Motion Is Movement

I am proud to present my first EP. It is entitled Motion is Movement. Over the past 6 months, I have been in the process of taking what seemed unimportant and turning it into the next chapter of my life.

I’m proud to say this album has been a collaborative project with many sources of input and criticism. To my brother Todd, this would have been impossible if it weren’t for you’re hard work and dedication to helping me fulfill my vision. To my bandmates Josh Wood and Andrew Twitty, you are both fine gentlemen with great skill and I am so glad you chose to help me create this beautiful work. I’m just glad I didn’t publish this under our first band name.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I have.

I’ve been working diligently through school to earn my degree in Journalism. This unfortunatley has led to a lack of art, music, and thought.

I have occasionally worked on a song here, or some art there, but nothing has come to true fruition. I am working to have new creative posts at least once a month.

It has been a pretty rough past couple of days. My mind is swirling with emotions of sadness and a broken heart. At the same time, waves of renewed spirit wash over my stricken face.

An Inaugural Day

Wow, what an experience. I am extremely glad that I was able to make this trip up to our nation’s capital. I have been blessed with kind friends and wonderful opportunities.

As I headed down to the Capitol, I was quickly diverted down several side streets. One side street became another… and then another… and sevearl more after that. The crowds were out in force early this morning. We were herded like cattle through the streets of DC. Nobody was sure where to go, but we all knew if we just kept moving in the general direction of the mall we would make it soon enough.

A crowd/mob was quickly formed and took on a full mob mentality. People began pushing, shoving, running and exchanging course words. This made for a very long day.

It took me an hour and a half to reach my destination on the Mall. Without the crowds, it would have only taken me maybe 20 minutes to walk straight there. I was 3 jumbotrons back from the front. Not too bad if I say so myself.

I found myself next to other young adults and struck up a conversation to pass the time. We also watched the Inaugural Concert on the jumbotron. I remember being extremly excited when Garth Brooks played “SHOUT!” It gave me the opportunity to jump and sing with everyone else in a desperate attempt to stay warm. Thank you Mr. Brooks!

Overall, I was very warm for the ceremony, except for my feet. The double layer of socks just didn’t seem to cut it and my feet became numb fast. They really hurt now that I have them defrosted.

The Inauguration was great. The idea that all the former presidents were at this one place was fantastic. I couldn’t believe that the George W. Bush was just there up at the Capital, and even better President Obama! It was quite a trip.

President Obama’s speech was very good. I thought it powerful and forceful now that he was president, a different tone than all his other speeches. I hope that this administration is successful and is for the better of the United States.

I witnessed President Bush board Marine I and take off. To see his helicopter suddenly rise above the Capital and fly over the mall was spectacular. Thank you President Bush for your service to our country.

After the ceremony, I attempted to escape the Mall, as did the other 2 million people in attendence. What a nightmare.

That’s right, people were walking on the interstate. Reminded me of a zombie apocolypse.

Thankfully, I have learned the city streets here, and with the help of a new friend RJ, we escaped with little difficulty. Now to find food. Another common idea among every there. We ended up walking several miles just to find a restaurant that was only partly packed. We ate, laughed, and shared stories. Then, saying goodbye, I took off to my friend’s apartment where I am staying.

Overall this has been quite a trip. I am so glad that I was able to make it here for this historic celebration.
